Rector's Platzer Ring

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Rektor-Platzer-Ring is the golden ring of honor of the Montan University Leoben .

history

On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Montanuniversität Leoben (then "Montanist University") in 1965, a gold ring of honor, known as the Rector-Platzer-Ring, was donated for the first time. Since then, this ring of honor has been given to those graduate engineers who have completed their studies ( bachelor's and master's degree ) with excellent performance. The requirements for this exceed the requirements of the legally stipulated "award". The Rektor-Platzer-Ring thus represents the highest distinction that the Montan University Leoben bestows on its graduates of the master’s degree programs in the context of academic celebrations.

The namesake Franz Platzer was the rector of the Montanist University from 1945 to 1953.
