René Rubiella

René Rubiella (born September 1, 1928 in La Ciénaga ) is a Puerto Rican actor.

Rubiella began his career as an actor in radio plays on the radio stations WNEL , WKAQ and WIAC . He later went to New York and in 1946 became a spokesperson for José de la Vegas station La Voz Hispana . He was also part of the speaking team for the broadcaster WHOM , where he produced his first radio plays in Spanish. Miriam Colón was one of the regular actresses .

When WAPA TV / Canal 4 opened in 1954 , Rubiella returned to his homeland. He participated in the program La Piña de Tommy Muñiz and was regularly seen on Myrta Silva's program Una hora contigo . From the mid-1960s he played comic characters in El show de las 12 and La Taberna India on Telemundo, such as the criminal Cheo Pitrinche , the notorious stranger Mozambique and the beggar Findingo Lenguamuerta , who also came to the cinema with Arturo Correa's film El derecho de comer .

In the 1970s Rubiella appeared in productions by Alberto González at Rikavisión / Canal 7 and in various telenovelas (including as the father of Marilyn Pupo in Anacoana , 1979). In Miami, he played Avelino Plumón in Alberto González's comedy A Vicente le llegó un pariente for two years at the Teatro América in the early 1980s . From 1982 he worked for television in Puerto Rico. After 1990 he only appeared sporadically because of health problems.
