Rena Schandl

Rena Schandl (* 1962 in Krems an der Donau ) is an Austrian children's book author . A real-time 3D video game based on one of her books with the title Leo the Rabbit from Lower Austria was awarded the state prize for multimedia and e-business in the category of culture, entertainment and games in 2007.

Life

Due to the early division of her parents, Rena Schandl spent her childhood with mother and grandparents in modest circumstances in a small rural community in Lower Austria. After primary school, her mother decided she attended a three-year commercial school and then worked for many years in the public service. She only succeeded in promoting her humanities talents in adulthood by studying art history, which also revealed her gift for writing. Encouraged by the regional fame that she gained with "Leo reads - a story about reading based on a foray into the past of Lower Austria", she decided to continue her debut novel under the title "Natti and John", in which she describes the childhood impressions of Letting life in the country flow into her rich fantasy world.

She has been married since 1989 and has lived with her own family not far from where she was born.
