Renate Wetzel

Renate Wetzel (nee Renate Lausch ) (born April 23, 1949 in Stralsund ) is a German politician ( SED , PDS ). From 1990 to 1994 she was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Education and life

Renate Wetzel graduated from the Technical University of Magdeburg with a qualification as a specialist teacher for vocational training (mechanical engineering) after completing her vocational training with Abitur and was a research assistant at the university from 1975 to 1978, where she also received her doctorate . From 1979 to 1982 she was first deputy chairman of the council of the district of Haldensleben, then deputy head of department in the council of the district of Magdeburg .

Renate Wetzel is married and has one child.

politics

Renate Wetzel was a member of the SED and PDS. From 1971 to 1986 she was a member of the People's Chamber . From 1974 she was a member of the Peace Council . After the political change in the GDR, she was elected to the state parliament in the first state election in Saxony-Anhalt in October 1990 via the state list, in which she was the parliamentary manager of the PDS faction.
