James & Son , a feed retailer with English roots, used Reo-Speed Wagon trucks to transport spent grains from London breweries to farms in the surrounding area. The spent grain was used there as calf feed. The trucks used by James & Son had wooden cabs and were available in two sizes.
The rock band REO Speedwagon named themselves after this vehicle.
