The Referee will talk to the Replay Official over the radio

The replay official in American football is part of the extended circle of referees . The Replay Official is responsible for ensuring that the game is interrupted in good time in the event of disputed referee decisions in order to enable video evidence . As soon as a new move has been started, a so-called challenge is no longer possible. In college football , the replay official bears this responsibility throughout the game, in the NFL only during the last two minutes of half and in extra time. During the rest of the time, the head coach can demand a challenge by throwing a red flag.
