Reps House

The Repssche house is under monument protection standing half-timbered building in Haldensleben in Saxony Anhalt .

The residential building, also known as the Ratsfischerhaus , dates back to before the Thirty Years War and is one of the oldest half-timbered houses in the city. It stands as house number 15 on Stendaler Strasse opposite the Haldensleben district court . The half-timbered structure of the house with the eaves facing the street is characterized by so-called fire rams . A courtyard passage is integrated into the building.

The house had been owned by the Reps family since 1766 . The family worked as a council fisherman until 1932, which gives the building its second name. In the early 20th century there was a tavern in the house. In 1936 the painter Uffrecht renovated the house. The half-timbered facade of the house, which was plastered at the time, was also exposed.

Currently (as of 2010) the Repssche Haus is in urgent need of renovation.
