The Resolution 2166 of the UN Security Council is a resolution that the UN Security Council following the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over the Ukraine voted unanimously on July 21, 2014.

With the resolution, the Security Council disapproved of the shooting down of a Malaysia Airlines civil aircraft on flight MH17 on July 17, 2014 in eastern Ukraine near Hrabowe . All 298 inmates were killed. The Security Council called for a full, thorough and independent international investigation into the downing of the aircraft and called on all states to support the civil and criminal investigations into the incident. The international civil aviation organization ICAO should play a central role in international investigations . It was also called for international experts to be given immediate access to the scene of the accident.
