Jan-Olof Johansson

Jan-Olof Johansson (born April 22, 1948 in Lekeryd , Jönköping parish ) is a Swedish Lutheran bishop . Until 2015 he headed the Växjö diocese of the Church of Sweden .

Life

Johansson studied theology and philosophy . After his ordination in 1980, Bishop Sven Lindegård soon brought him to the diocese office in Växjo. In 2006 he became provost at Växjö Cathedral . In 2010 he was elected as the successor to Sven Thidevall , to whom he was defeated in the 2006 election, as bishop of the Växjö diocese and consecrated on November 21. Fredrik Modéus was his successor in 2015 .
