The Resolution 243 of the UN Security Council was a resolution of the UN Security Council adopted on 12 December 1967 of its 1384 session.

At this meeting the Security Council discussed the membership application of the People's Republic of Yemen . With the adoption of the resolution, the body recommended to the General Assembly of the United Nations the admission of the state that became independent from the United Kingdom on November 30, 1967, to the United Nations.

According to the decision of the General Assembly, South Yemen was admitted to the United Nations on December 14, 1967 as the 123rd state.
