The Resolution 592 of the UN Security Council is concerned with the situation in the of the occupied territories Israel .

The resolution was passed on December 8, 1986 at the 2727th meeting of the body. The council urged Israel to abide by the Geneva Conventions and condemned the shooting by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on unarmed students demonstrating, in which two members of Bir Zait University were killed. The Council also called on Israel to release detained demonstrators.
