The Ressu-Gymnasium (Finnish. Ressun lukio ) is a Finnish educational institution of the second grade ( school years 10 to 12). The high school building is located in the center of Helsinki . The grammar school was founded in 1891 under the name Finnish Realgymnasium Helsinki ( Helsingin Suomalainen Reaalilyseo ) in order to counterbalance the schools focused on Latin and the humanities. It is one of the oldest Finnish-speaking grammar schools in Finland and was the first school in the Finnish capital to specialize in modern languages and science. Today the school houses around 680 students.
