Retro swing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

At the end of the 1990s, retro swing was a wave of dance music around the world, in which combo and big band swing music was played in a modern, pepped up version, primarily to revive old dances from the swing era such as the "Jitterbug". Dance groups dressed in fashions of the 1930s and 1940s, and danced the wild Dances of the swing era before which were the forerunners of the rock 'n' roll dance. Hence a certain coloring of this NeoSwing music came about : from rock 'n' roll , since z. B. Rockabilly musicians like Brian Setzer were involved in the retro swing business with hot big band music. The form of music had only limited connection with jazz .
