Retro replay cartridge

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Retro Replay cartridge is a plug-in module for the home computer C64 . The module is distributed by the German company Individual Computers from Aachen . The plug-in module is a further development of the " Action Replay " module for the C64, but offers a number of other functions.

Like the Action Replay Cartridge, the cartridge can freeze and save entire games. Furthermore, the memory of a running game can be manipulated to get additional lives, infinite weapons or the like. In addition, the Retro Replay Cartridge offers 32K RAM and 128K for ROM (2x64K for two different modules, switchable by switch), an Amiga clock port for expansion modules such as the Ethernet interface RR-net or the high-speed RS232 interface "Silver Surfer", Turbo Assembler macro in Flash and graphics ripper for KoalaPainter and Bitmap .

Many errors in the original action replay have been eliminated and superfluous functions have been replaced by more useful ones. Other modules can also be flashed onto the Retro Replay module, for example the Final Replay , a further development of the Final Cartridge, which is particularly popular in Germany .
