newspaper

The Revalsche Post-Zeitung was founded by the postmaster Carl Philipp Grubb , who was its editor until 1707. It appeared in German, the upper class and educational language in Estonia at the time.

The editorial office was in Tallinn . The newspaper was printed by Christoph Brendeken (1649–1710), who was born in Goslar and who had had his own printing works in Tallinn since 1676. Brendeken was also the editor of the newspaper.

The Reval (i )sche Post-Zeitung appeared on Mondays and Thursdays from 1689 to 1710. In 1710, during the Northern War , Russian troops conquered Estonia, which was then part of the Kingdom of Sweden. The newspaper was discontinued. It was not until 1772 that a newspaper appeared again in Tallinn with the Revalische Weekly News .
