Reza Pourjavady

Reza Pourjavady is a contemporary Iranian philosopher and Islamic scholar . His research interests include philosophy in the early Safavid and Qajar periods .

He received his BA in Philosophy from Tehran University in 1997 and an MA in Islamic Studies from Leeds University in 2001 . In 2008 he received his doctorate in Islamic studies from the Free University of Berlin . From 2008 to 2013 he worked at the Institute for Islamic Studies at McGill University in the project "Rational Science in Islam", from 2013 to 2014 he was at the Free University of Berlin. He is Visiting Professor of Oriental and Islamic Studies at the Ruhr University Bochum .
