Rhine marathon
The Rhine Marathon was a marathon that was organized in Maximiliansau by VLG Maximiliansau since 1980 . Until 1999 it took place in April or May, since 2000 on October 3rd ( Day of German Unity ). The course was an asphalt flat turning point route in the Rheinaue, which was run through once in the half marathon and twice in the marathon.
The run took place for the last time in 2006; the 28th edition planned for October 3, 2007 was canceled in February 2007 without giving a reason. The VLG Maximiliansau continued to organize the Rhine fun run with distances of up to half a marathon.
