Rhesis

As rhesis (Greek rhesis = speech, speaking, saying; plural: rhesis ) in Greek tragedy is a longer spoken part of a partner in a dialogue. It thus forms a kind of contrast to Stichomythie and serves to underpin a point of view or an opinion .

Examples of use can be found u. a. in Sophocles' Antigone , verses 450-470 and 473-496.
