Rhoda from Glehn
Rhoda von Glehn (born July 3, 1881 in London , † August 19, 1964 in Aachen ) was a German singer .
Life
The soprano received her first training in London and then studied in Paris, among others with the well-known tenor Jean de Reszke . In 1912 she appeared at the Covent Garden Opera in London as Woglinde in the Ring des Nibelungen , but had to leave England at the beginning of the First World War because she was of German origin. She received an engagement at the Stuttgart Court Opera, of which she remained a member until the end of her career in 1933. There she sang in 1915 in the premiere of Mona Lisa by Max von Schillings the role of Ginevra and 1917 in the premiere of Siegfried Wagner at all, hat's fault! (December 6, 1917) the role of the miller's wife. Guest performances have taken her to the opera houses in Berlin, Frankfurt a. M., Munich and Zurich. She was also able to achieve significant success as a concert soprano.
