Ricardo Ribeiro (head of the secret service)

Ricardo Ribeiro is the former head of the East Timorese secret service Serviço Nacional de Segurança do Estado (SNSE). He comes from Baucau and is a member of FRETILIN .

Ribeiro is the nephew of Marí Alkatiri , who was Prime Minister from 2002 to 2006 . After the unrest in East Timor in 2006 and the resignation of Alkatiri, the SNSE, which was criticized as the "private espionage network of the Prime Minister", was dissolved.
