Richard Arthur Plaschke
Richard Arthur Plaschke ( May 5, 1851 in Ottern , East Prussia - January 17, 1899 in Berlin ) was a German theater actor.
Life
Plascke joined the Prussian army in 1851 as an avantageur and took his leave in 1878 as a first lieutenant (later he was a captain in the Landwehr) in order to pursue a stage career. After training at the Vienna Conservatory, he made his debut on January 9, 1880 at the Court Theater in Meiningen.
Then there were stations in Sondershausen, Halle and Bremen before he went to the Berlin Hofbühne in 1883. "Mephisto", "President Walter", "Thorane", "Odoardo", "Franz Moor" etc. were roles in which he mostly achieved excellent results. In the last part of his theatrical career he has proven himself primarily as an assistant director. Conscientious exercise and devotion to his profession were his most outstanding qualities.
Plaschke died on January 17, 1899 in Berlin.
