Richard Bennett (guitarist)
Richard Bennett (born July 22, 1951 ) is an American guest musician , studio guitarist and record producer . Since 1994 he has accompanied Mark Knopfler on his studio recordings and tours. Before that he was Neil Diamonds guitarist from 1971 to 1987 . Bennett has also worked with Emmylou Harris , Steve Earle and Marty Stuart , among others .
