Richard Küter

Richard Küter (born August 8, 1877 in Berlin ; † October 10, 1949 ) was a German socialist politician .

Life

Küter joined the SPD in 1906 . In 1913 he became an employee of the Allgemeine Ortskrankenkasse Berlin, after having previously worked as a lathe operator and machine fitter. In 1915 he was called up for military service. From 1919 to 1922 he was a member of the board of directors of the publishing cooperative "Freiheit", after which he worked as a freelance representative. From 1924 to 1933 he was the secretary of the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold for Berlin and Brandenburg .

After the seizure of power by the Nazis in 1933, Küter operated remains illegal. He was arrested four times in total by 1945 and imprisoned for a long time.

In 1945/46 he was a member and secretary of the Brandenburg SPD district committee. At the unification party convention of the SPD and KPD to the SED in the province of Brandenburg on April 7, 1946 in Potsdam , Küter was elected as a social democrat to the secretariat of the SED provincial executive and was responsible for the fund together with the communist Willi Seeger . In August 1946 he resigned from the Provincial Board to take on a position at the Central Secretariat (from January 1949 Politburo ) of the SED. From 1946 to 1949, Küfer was the main consultant in the personnel policy department.
