Richard Stauffacher

Richard Stauffacher (born August 28, 1982 ) is a Swiss windsurfer .

Stauffacher competed in alpine ski races in his youth, but at the age of 15 he decided entirely to windsurf. In 2004 he took part in his first Olympic Games in Athens and reached the 24th place. This is followed by the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing (14th place) and the 2012 Olympic Games in London (10th place). He was also named Swiss Sailor of the Year 2012.

Stauffacher is a member of the Liechtenstein Sailing Surfing Club and the St. Moritz Sailing Club . In 2013 he completed his master's degree in accounting and finance at the University of St. Gallen.
