Richard Wright (Artist)
Richard Wright (* 1960 in London ) is a British artist and musician.
Career
Wright's family moved with him to Scotland as a child. Between 1978 and 1982 he attended the Edinburgh College of Art and studied from 1993 to 1995 at the Glasgow School of Art , from which he graduated as a Master of Fine Art . He lives and works in Glasgow .
With his artistic work he tries to decorate architectural spaces with sophisticated geometric patterns in color and gold leaf.
On December 7, 2009, he was awarded the Turner Prize for his golden fresco in the second room of Tate Britain .
