Direction track
Directional tracks are tracks of a marshalling yard in which new freight trains for the various directions or destination stations are formed from individual rail freight cars. Several directional tracks are combined in a separate directional group or directional harp (in Austria : series station ).
The wagons run over the drainage hill into the direction tracks and line up to form the new train compositions.
