history
The Rieckhof was built in 1984. The sponsorship was transferred to the Freizeitzentrum Hamburg-Harburg eV by the district assembly. The club had previously operated the Nöldeckestrasse leisure center . Only two of the three originally planned construction phases were implemented, and savings were sacrificed in an additional small event hall.
The name Rieckhof was chosen in a public tender. On the one hand, it consists of the name Adolf Rieckhoff , a victim of National Socialism, after whom Rieckhoffstrasse, on which the cultural center is located, was named. On the other hand from the term courtyard , which should stand for an open meeting place.
On November 15, 2014 the 30th anniversary of the Rieckhof was celebrated.
