The Riffelsee is a small, outflow-free mountain lake at an altitude of 2770 m above sea level. M. above Zermatt at the foot of the Riffelhorn in the canton of Valais . It is located a little below the “Rotenboden” station of the Gornergratbahn . The east face of the Matterhorn is reflected in the Riffelsee . When there is no wind and when the lake is free of ice, this is one of the most popular photo opportunities in Switzerland.
