Rigspolitiet

The Rigspolitiet ( German Reichspolizei ) is the highest police authority in the Kingdom of Denmark . The Rigspolitiet's task is to define the direction and strategy of the police ( Politiet ), to support the work of the police forces and to coordinate police activities at national level. The Rigspolitiet is headed by the Reichspolizeichefen ( rigspolitichefen ) and is divided into four main areas. These are the police stations, the group management, the IT group and the group HR. In addition, the Police Intelligence Service (PET) belongs to the police.

The head of Rigspolitiet has been the lawyer Jens Henrik Højbjerg (* 1955), who started his career between 1982 and 1984 as police chief in Greenland , since February 1, 2009 .
