Rihards Dubra

Rihards Dubra (born February 28, 1964 in Riga ) is a Latvian composer .

Dubra studied music theory and composition at the Emils Darzins Music School and at the Latvian Music Academy with Juris Karlsons . In 1997 he finished his studies with a Masters degree in composition. For several years he worked as an organist at the Catholic Church Mater Dolorosa in Riga. He is one of the founders and leaders of the Schola Cantorum Riga group . He also teaches music theory and composition at the music school in Jūrmala and has been a cantor at the Catholic Maria Magdalenenkirche since 1999 .

  • Mass for choir and orchestra
  • Missa Sinceritatis for tenor solo, oboe, choir, percussion and organ
  • Sitivit Anima Mea for baritone solo, English horn, 8 cellos and 2 double basses (una sinfonia da camera)
  • Alma Redemptoris Mater for choir, soprano saxophone and organ
  • Oratio for choir and marimba
  • Te Deum for 6 choirs and orchestra

also some smaller cantatas, fairy tale ballet for children, around 40 motets for choir, organ and piano pieces
