The Riiser-Larsen Basin is a lake basin in the Haakon VII Sea off the Princess Martha coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It is located immediately north of the Riiser-Larsen Ice Shelf .

It has been named since 1997 at the suggestion of the surveyor and glaciologist Heinrich Hinze from the Alfred Wegener Institute based on the name of the neighboring ice shelf. Its namesake is the Norwegian aviation pioneer and polar researcher Hjalmar Riiser-Larsen (1890-1965).
