Rikarena is a popular merengue band from Puerto Rico .
Career
Rikarena was founded in 1993 by Kinito Méndez, actually José del Carmen Ramírez. The band consists of four members, from whom Daniel Santacruz began a solo career. The group has released ten albums so far and celebrated their greatest successes especially in the 1990s. They became known through their tours in the Dominican Republic , Puerto Rico, Panama , Colombia , Venezuela , Peru and Central American countries. Their music style is similar to groups like La Banda Gorda or Milly & Los Vecinos. Her biggest hits include songs like "Cuando el Amor Se Daña", "No Puedo Olvidarla", "Era Mentira" and "Ella Es Tan Bella".
