The Rillenstein von Bliedersdorf is a prehistoric Rillenstein and an anthropomorphic menhir near Bliedersdorf in the district of Stade , Lower Saxony .

location

The stone was probably discovered during clearing work in the area around Bliedersdorf, but the exact location is unknown. In 1852 he was raised. 250 m north of this location were a burial mound field and an urn cemetery from the Bronze Age . In 1986 the stone was moved again. Since then it has been on private property on the property at Am Gutspark 5 in Nottensdorf .

description

The stone is pillar-shaped and made of red granite . It has a height of 1.14 m, a width of 0.45 m and a thickness of 0.38 m. The lower part has a square cross-section with three smooth sides and a slightly curved back. The right outside of the base has a bead. At the top of the stone, an almost spherical head was carved out. The forehead is flattened and has a single bowl with a diameter of 5 cm and a depth of 1 cm. On the lower part of the stone, about two-thirds of its height, is notched a horizontal groove that may represent a belt . It has a width of 2.5 cm and a depth of 3.3 cm.

On the occasion of the installation of the stone in 1852, the coat of arms of the von Düring family was placed above the groove and the inscription “C. v. D. 1852 “carved. In the following years the stone was badly damaged and the head was cut off. In 1982 it was recognized as prehistoric and the head was glued back on with cement . Only a few years later it was damaged again during clearing work. In 1986 it was restored again and moved to its current location.
