About this picture

Nottensdorf ( Low German Nottensdbod ) is a member municipality of the combined municipality of Horneburg in Lower Saxony . It is located directly on the federal highway 73. All around the village are fields, meadows, pastures, forest and heather patches.

history

Nottensdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1270. The document is lost and thus the oldest document that contains the place name Notmestorpe is from 1303. Nottensdorf was a purely farming village until the 1960s.

The destruction in the last days of the Second World War resulted in a major change in the appearance of the town. While thatched-roof houses prevailed before, the now predominantly new buildings increased afterwards. Today Nottensdorf is a place of residence with only a few specialized farms, companies in the construction, gastronomy and hotel industries.
