Geographical location
The community lies in the Marsh of the Oste on the edge of the Geest . In addition, the location Horst belongs to it, which lies on a sand ridge between the core village and the Oste.

Incorporation

Until January 1, 2014, Burweg was a member community of the combined community of Oldendorf , which merged with the combined community of Himmelpforten to form the new combined community of Oldendorf-Himmelpforten .

Transport and infrastructure
traffic
The federal highway 73 runs through the municipality , which leads in the northwest over the Oste to Cuxhaven via Hemmoor and in the southeast over Himmelpforten to Stade . There is a motorway connection in Stade to the BAB 26 .
The Niederelbebahn runs through the community. The next train stations are in Himmelpforten and Hechthausen .
