Oederquart is a municipality in Lower Saxony in the north of the Stade district . It is part of the joint municipality of Nordkehdingen .

history

In terms of settlement history, the past of the place can be divided into three periods. After the Chauken or Saxon times , Oederquart became the target of the Dutch colonization of the 12th century and the so-called Bruch and Moor colonization of the last centuries.

Oederquart was first mentioned in a document in 1331.

On February 5, 1975, the community of Oederquart set up a children's play area for preschoolers. After the care times had been extended over the years, a new kindergarten was opened between summer 1992 and March 1993 .

  • 2003: 1,300 inhabitants (approx.)
  • 2015: 1,040 inhabitants

The municipal council, which was elected on September 11, 2016, is composed as follows:

Mayor is Prof. Dr. Jörg Oldenburg (CDU). His deputy is Stefan Raap (FWG). The second deputy is Lothar Bahr (SPD). Appointed community director is Erika Hatecke, mayor of the entire community.

Public barefoot path
  • The community runs a kindergarten.
  • Community library with around 1800 books. However, the selection of titles is mainly limited to books for children and young people and entertainment literature.

  • 4 km long barefoot path "Von Korffscher Weg" (circular hiking trail)
