The community belongs to the combined community of Oldendorf-Himmelpforten , which has its administrative seat in the community of Himmelpforten . It consists of the districts Heinbockel and Hagenah . It has about 1493 inhabitants, of which about 804 are in Heinbockel and 689 in Hagenah.

The Heinbockel community council consists of eleven council members and councilors. The coat of arms was adopted by the local council in 1948 and awarded on February 2, 1949 by the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior.

Blazon : "In gold on a green shield base covers a black barn with a golden urn."

The coat of arms was designed and designed by the heraldic advisor Landschaftsrat von Holleufer. The community has included the still well-preserved stone chamber grave in its district in its coat of arms. The urn points to other prehistoric finds and the old settlement of the municipality.
