The combined community of Oldendorf-Himmelpforten is a community association in the Stade district in Lower Saxony . The administrative headquarters are in Himmelpforten , with a branch office including a citizens' office in Oldendorf . Around 17,500 people live in the municipality.
Joint community structure
The integrated community consists of the ten member communities Burweg , Düdenbüttel , Engelschoff , Estorf , Großenwörden , Hammah , Heinbockel , Himmelpforten, Kranenburg and Oldendorf.
history
The joint community was created on January 1, 2014 from the merger of the joint communities Himmelpforten and Oldendorf .

Joint council
The joint council of the combined community of Oldendorf-Himmelpforten consists of 32 councilors. This is the specified number for a joint municipality with a population between 15,001 and 20,000. The council members are elected for a five-year term by local elections. The current term of office began on November 1, 2016 and ends on October 31, 2021.
The full-time Mayor of the Joint Community, Holger Falcke, is also entitled to vote in the Council of the Joint Community.

Joint mayor of the municipality
In the mayoral election on November 10, 2013, Holger Falcke was able to prevail with 85.09 percent yes-votes. Falcke is independent and with the support of the CDU, the SPD, the FWG and the OLH, he was the only applicant for the office of mayor of the municipality. He was previously mayor of the municipality of Himmelpforten and a decisive supporter of the creation of the new municipality of Oldendorf-Himmelpforten.
Partnerships
Since July 8, 2005, the joint community of Oldendorf has been in partnership with the Polish rural community of Puck on the Baltic Sea .
