The joint municipality Lühe is a joint municipality in the district of Stade in northern Lower Saxony . Six municipalities have come together in it to carry out their administrative business. The administrative seat of the joint community is in Steinkirchen .

geography

Geographical location

The combined community is east of the city of Stade in the Altes Land . In the west, the municipality is bounded by a completed section of the new federal motorway 26 and in the east by the Elbe , which also forms the border with Schleswig-Holstein .

Joint community structure

The joint community Lühe consists of the member communities Grünendeich , Guderhandviertel , Hollern-Twielenfleth , Mittelkirchen , Neuenkirchen and Steinkirchen .

Joint council

The council of the joint community Lühe consists of 20 councilors and councilors. The stipulated number for a parish with a population between 9,001 and 10,000 is usually 24 councilors. By resolution of the joint municipal council, this number was reduced by four council members. The 20 council members are elected by local elections for five years each. The current term of office began on November 1, 2016 and ends on October 31, 2021.

The full-time Mayor of the Joint Community, Michael Gosch (CDU), is also entitled to vote in the Council of the Joint Community.

Joint mayor of the municipality

Michael Gosch (CDU) is the full-time mayor of the joint municipality of Lühe. In the last mayoral election on May 25, 2014, he was elected with 53.8% of the vote. The turnout was 56.6%. Gosch took up his post on November 1, 2014, replacing the previous incumbent Hans Jarck (SPD), who was no longer running.

Lühe is also important for tourism, especially when the cherries are in bloom in the Altes Land and when the fruit sellers sell their goods on the streets.

education

In the pre-school area, there are groups and kindergartens in Hollern-Twielenfleth, Steinkirchen and Neuenkirchen. The joint community maintains primary schools in Guderhandviertel, Hollern-Twielenfleth and Steinkirchen. There is also a secondary school here. Secondary schools are located in Stade.

public safety

  • A police station is manned on daily duty in Steinkirchen.
  • In all member communities, the respective volunteer fire brigade ensures fire protection and general help.

  • The debts are expected to be EUR 8.8 million by the end of 2019.
  • The planned budget for 2019 provides for a surplus of EUR 310,000.

Bus routes

There are four bus routes in Lühe operated by KVG Stade and connected to the Hamburg Transport Association (HVV):

  • 2050 Stade - Hollern - Steinkirchen - Jork - Hamburg-Cranz
  • 2051 Stade - Hollern-Twielenfleth (- Steinkirchen - Jork) (only on weekdays)
  • 2030 Buxtehude - Dammhausen - Jork - Borstel - Steinkirchen (only on weekdays)
  • 2053 Horneburg - Steinkirchen (only Mondays to Fridays)

Elbe ferry

In Lühe you can take the Lühe-Schulau ferry , which only transports people and bicycles, to the other side of the Elbe and the like. a. to get to Wedel in Schleswig-Holstein . The ferry is not affiliated with the Hamburg Transport Association.
