The integrated community Schwarmstedt is located in the south of the Heidekreis district in Lower Saxony and is one of the three member communities of the Aller-Leine-Tal association .

history
The integrated community Schwarmstedt was formed on March 4, 1974 through the regional reform of the state of Lower Saxony .
Infrastructure
The combined community has two train stations (Lindwedel and Schwarmstedt) from which the cities of Hanover and Buchholz in the Nordheide can be reached every hour by the RB38.
The following motorways or federal highways run through the municipality:

The largest municipality of the integrated municipality, Schwarmstedt, has shops for home improvement and shopping as well as hairdressers, gas stations and a car dealership. Nationally known companies also have their headquarters here.
Four of the five member municipalities have primary schools and the municipality of Schwarmstedt also has a cooperative comprehensive school with main, secondary and grammar school branches up to and including secondary level 2.

Joint council
After the 2011 local elections:
- SPD - 18 seats
- CDU - 8 seats
- Independent Community of Voters (UWG) - 4 seats
The full-time mayor is also represented in the council with a seat and voting rights .
Joint mayor of the municipality
On September 11, 2011, Björn Gehrs was elected as full-time mayor of the municipality with effect from November 1, 2011. A re-election took place on May 26, 2019 with a vote of 83.27 percent. The joint municipality mayor is the third body of the joint municipality with important, independent decision-making powers, alongside the joint municipality council and the joint municipality committee. He is the head of the joint municipality administration, executes the resolutions of the other organs and represents the joint community externally and is therefore also a representative of the joint municipality Schwarmstedt.
Youth parliament
Since February 2016, the Schwarmstedt community has an active youth parliament with 14 youth parliamentarians. It represents the wishes and opinions of the children and young people of the integrated community.
