Aller-Leine-Tal is the name of a region north of Hanover that was formed for the purposes of regional marketing and inter-municipal cooperation. The Aller-Leine-Tal initially only included the three municipalities of Ahlden , Rethem and Schwarmstedt in the Heidekreis district , which are located on the south-western edge of the Lüneburg Heath in the area where the Leine meets the Aller .

Since 2001, the neighboring municipalities of Hambühren , Wietze and Winsen ( district of Celle ) as well as the municipality of Dörverden and the area of the municipality of Kirchlinteln ( district of Verden ) south of the BAB 27 belong to the Aller-Leine-Tal region. The connecting and characteristic element of the region is the river landscape of the Aller and the Leine.

Origin and development

The regional cooperation began in 1995 with the search of the Verden Agricultural Structure Office (today: Verden Land Development Office) for municipalities to create modern structures with sustainable development.

The joint municipalities of Ahlden , Rethem / Aller and Schwarmstedt founded the Aller-Leine-Tal association on October 8, 1998. In 2001/2002, the region with its regional development concept (REK) took second place in a Lower Saxony-wide competition in the LEADER + funding program of the European Union , with which rural areas were supported with funding until 2006. As part of the preparation of the REK, the region was also expanded.

The central body for steering the LEADER + process is the Local Action Group (LAG) “Cooperation Area Aller-Leine-Tal”. In 2007 the Aller-Leine-Tal updated the REK from 2001 and with the REK 2007 participated in the Leader selection process for the EU funding period 2007–2013. On November 21, 2007 the Lower Saxony Ministry for Rural Areas, Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection recognized the Aller-Leine Valley as one of a total of 32 Leader regions in Lower Saxony.

tourism

The Aller-Leine-Tal offers 100 kilometers of Aller cycle paths and 360 kilometers of regional loops through forests, meadows and moors. Those who are not averse to the water are offered fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking and rafting.

"Cycling" on the Aller is also possible with the "Shuttle-Bike", which can be rented at the boat station in Bosse.

In the west near Dörverden, the so-called Aller ferry brings cyclists and pedestrians from the west over the Aller to neighboring Otersen .

In the vicinity there are animal and leisure parks such as the Serengeti Park in Hodenhagen , Heide Park in Soltau , Vogelpark Walsrode , Lüneburg Heath Wildlife Park in Nindorf or the Magic Park in Verden .
