Buchholz (Aller) is a municipality in the Samtgemeinde Schwarmstedt in the Heidekreis district in Lower Saxony ( Germany ). The community has about 2,100 inhabitants and extends over an area of 27.70 km².
geography
The federal highway 7 (A 7) and the federal highway 214 (B 214), as well as the highway 190 (L190) run through the area of the municipality . The Aller flows on the northern edge of the municipality .
In addition to the village of Buchholz, the village of Marklendorf also belongs to the community.
history
On March 1, 1974, the community of Marklendorf was incorporated.

The coat of arms gives the name of the municipality of Buchholz (Aller) “talking” and at the same time symbolizes its location on the Aller, represented by the wave bar. The municipality of Buchholz (Aller) consists of two parts of the municipality, Buchholz and Marklendorf, which are both equally represented by a beech leaf each.
Culture and sights
Buildings
In autumn 2010 the new village community center was opened opposite the Buchholz school, which includes a sports hall and several community rooms. The community house fulfills numerous tasks. It enables school sports at the Buchholz school, offers numerous recreational sports opportunities, has rooms for the village community, enables the cafeteria to run at the Buchholz primary school, has a youth room and houses the Buchholz volunteer fire department. In 2013, the outdoor area was expanded to include a public boules pitch, which was largely created in-house.
societies
There are numerous clubs and organizations in Buchholz and Marklendorf. The largest club in the community is SVN Buchholz (Sportverein Niedersachsen Buchholz 1921 eV). He has his own clubhouse and Karl-Frewert-Platz on Mühlenweg in Buchholz. The club offers football , badminton , gymnastics , volleyball and tennis .
The Buchholz shooting club was founded in 1910. It celebrated its 100th anniversary on May 29th and 30th, 2010. The shooting club has its own clubhouse in Buchholz in the street "Am Bahnhof". In addition to shooting sports and the marching band, darts has also been offered as a third division since 2015 .
The parents and support group of the Buchholz primary school supports the primary school's educational work with its own activities and financial support. The youngest association in the community is the Buchholz Forest Kindergarten Association.
In Marklendorf there is the Marklendorf shooting club from 1908. V., the volunteer fire brigade, the broombinder guild and the rafting association. In a joint action, the Marklendorfer built a new village community center "Am Schützenplatz", which is also home to the shooting club and the volunteer fire brigade. This was completed in summer 2011. The Marklendorfer Besenbinder are not an association, but a guild, who maintain the old craft and customs of broom making. The Marklendorf rafting association builds rafts for the ride on the Aller, some of which are also used for tourist purposes.
Communal
The Buchholz volunteer fire brigade also takes part in local events and village festivals in addition to its mandatory tasks. In 2014, the village community created the “Buchholzer Rundwanderweg”, which leads to all the sights in the community and explains them with information boards. The incorporated community of Marklendorf also has such a circular hiking trail.
Economy and Infrastructure
Business
Numerous companies have settled in Buchholz, which has its own industrial park right next to the busy federal motorway 7 and federal highway 214. The largest settlement in recent years was that of a large bakery with 80 jobs.
power supply
The municipality of Buchholz invested more than 50 million euros in the wind farm between 2009 and 2011, which is located outside of the local area of Buchholz and Marklendorf. In the Marklendorf hydropower plant, the run-of-river power plant with its three Francis diagonal turbines produces around 3 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually. The municipality uses new technologies to supply the municipal buildings.

Cabled DSL bandwidths of up to 100 Mbit / s are already available to the community. Construction work on a fiber optic network in Buchholz and Marklendorf began in autumn 2019. After completion, gigabit bandwidths will be available.
Public facilities
With the "Heinz Heyder School" in Buchholz, the community has its own elementary school with all-day classes. Further educational offers including high school offers up to the Abitur are in neighboring Schwarmstedt.
The Buchholz kindergarten is also on site. For children under three years of age, the Buchholz (Aller) community set up its own crèche in 2011, which adjoins the existing kindergarten building. This means that there is on-site care for all age groups. The offer has also been expanded for children with special needs. The Buchholz kindergarten has been an integration kindergarten with an integration group since autumn 2011. Another kindergarten offer in Buchholz is the forest kindergarten, which is run by the Waldkinder e. V. is operated.
