history

On November 23, 1964 the Aero-Club Hodenhagen e. V. founded by a handful of members. After the founding of the association, these aviation enthusiasts began leasing areas, building a runway and learning to fly. They financed the first aircraft and a short time later founded a glider and a parachute jump division. Over the years there were more and more members who advocate the association and its expansion. The association now has nine aircraft of its own and has over 200 members.

In 2013, the 900 m long grass runway on the runway was provided with a ground reinforcement system made from special plastic plates to compensate for bumps and enable safer take-off and landing processes.

On September 14, 2014 the Aero-Club Hodenhagen celebrated its 50th anniversary with an extensive program of flight demonstrations and sightseeing flights.

Operator / association

The Aero-Club Hodenhagen, which has operated the airfield since 1965, offers many different activities, such as training in powered and glider flying, youth work, excursions and lectures. In addition, championships are organized there and competitive flying is supported. Sightseeing flights in motor planes, gliders or motor gliders are offered for guests.

The Aero-Club maintains an aircraft fleet of five motor planes and four gliders and rents parking spaces in several hangars to private aircraft owners.

The Fliegerstübchen bistro and café with an outdoor terrace and a view of the airfield is connected to the association.

The airfield is open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in summer from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and in winter from 9 a.m. to sunset. The rest of the time, the airfield can be used by obtaining a permit ( PPR ).
