The airfield Seedorf is a special airfield in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) . It has a grass runway 450 meters long and 30 meters wide and is approved for gliders , motor gliders , microlights and powered aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of up to two tons.

Incidents

On June 16, 2007, the pilots of three aircraft on the way from Hoogeveen in the Netherlands to Oskarshamn in Sweden carried out a safety landing on the closed and therefore unoccupied Seedorf airfield due to bad weather . After the weather improved, two of the three aircraft took off again and circled over the field to wait for the third aircraft. Since the third aircraft was delayed, the two aircraft that had already taken off flew east. Shortly after take-off, the third machine, a Robin DR 400-160 , crashed and hit the ground about 150 meters behind the end of runway 06 . The plane exploded and burned out completely. The 61-year-old pilot, the 63-year-old copilot and a passenger were killed.
