The Melle- Grönegau airfield on the Segelfliegerweg in Melle is a special landing site and is located about 1.5 kilometers east of Melle in Lower Saxony. There are five halls (including two round halls), a tower and the clubhouse (the so-called hut) on the site.

The site is operated by the Melle-Grönegau eV glider pilot club. The club was founded on October 28, 1950 as the “Meller model and glider pilot club”. In 1953 the glider pilot's home with hall was completed, which is now located on Segelfliegerweg near the level crossing.

However, the airfield has only existed on its site since 1968/1969. Since the 1972 season, the Melle-Grönegau airfield has also been home to the Bünde Aero Club and its aircraft. Your original airfield in Schnathorst was officially closed at this time. Due to the rapidly growing flight operations, the first section of the runway with a usable length of 400 meters was paved in 1979. This was expanded again in 1995 by a good 200 meters. An international kite festival has been held at the special landing site at regular intervals since 1994. The organizer of this is the Osnabrück Dragon Club “just stay up”.

ATC operates an aircraft yard for small aircraft on the airfield . The Bielefeld flight school also operates an ultra-light flight, hang-glider and paragliding school here.
