The airfield is approved for the following aircraft:

Traffic times

The airfield is open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. During the winter time, the site can only be used with prior approval ( PPR ). There is no refueling and no customs clearance is carried out.

Airlines and Destinations

The FLN Frisia Luftverkehr provides July 1 to August 31 on Monday and Friday twice daily flights to and from Wangerooge to.

Incidents

  • On September 8, 1998, a Piper PA-28 did not climb sufficiently after takeoff, collided with trees and crashed into the Langeooger Wald. Of the four inmates, two were slightly injured and the other two were seriously injured.
  • On August 5, 2007, another Piper PA-28 accident occurred. On landing, the machine rolled over the end of the runway and collided with a ditch embankment. She was badly damaged and both inmates were slightly injured.
  • On May 15, 2010, a small Cessna aircraft overturned while landing on the runway. There were only minor injuries to the passengers.
