The airfield Leer-Papenburg is an airfield in East Friesland of national importance near empty .

location

The airfield is located in the Nüttermoor district of Leer near the federal motorway 31 at the Leer-Nord exit ; the airfield is connected to the city center of Leer approx. 4.5 km away by the federal highway 70 . The airfield is approved for all helicopters, motor gliders, ultralight and gliders up to 5700 kilograms and other aircraft up to 10,000 kilograms. This is why it is used for national and international charter and company flights by smaller jets and propeller-driven aircraft ( e.g. Beechcraft King Air ).

With almost 2500 take-offs per year, Leer-Papenburg is one of the most frequently flown airports in Germany in factory traffic, the reasons for this are the shipyard and automotive industries in the region.
