The Jingzhen Octagonal Pavilion ( Chinese  景 真 八角亭 , Pinyin Jǐngzhēn Bājiǎo tíng , English Jingzhen Octagonal Pavilion ) is located in Jingzhen, Menghai County , Xishuangbanna der Dai Autonomous District , Yunnan Province , China .

The building, part of a former hinayana - Buddhist monastery, located on the mountain Jingzhen in circles Menghai, 14 km west from the city of Jinghong .

History and nature

The monastery itself was once considered an important religious center. According to reports by the Dai , the pavilion was built in 1701 during the (Chinese) period of the Qing Dynasty (the year 1063 according to the traditional Dai calendar ). It is a wooden pavilion with a brick foundation, its windows are decorated with colored glass.

The pavilion has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China in Yunnan (3–124) since 1988 .
