history
The joint community of Fredenbeck has existed since 1965. The so-called small joint community of Fredenbeck originally consisted of the former communities of Deinste, Groß Fredenbeck, Klein Fredenbeck, Helmste, Schwinge and Wedel. The seat of the first joint community was Fredenbeck. The first joint municipality director was Alfred Schmetjen from Helmste and the first administrative employee was Johann Holst, who was previously the “municipality clerk” in Groß Fredenbeck.
In the course of the administrative and territorial reform in 1972, the three member communities as we know them today were created. Groß Fredenbeck, Klein Fredenbeck, Schwinge and Wedel (district of Stade) formed the municipality of Fredenbeck anew. Aspe, Essel, Mulsum and Kutenholz merged to form the municipality of Kutenholz and Deinste and Helmste formed the new municipality of Deinste, which, with around 2,400 inhabitants, is the smallest member municipality of the combined municipality of Fredenbeck. All three new communities formed what is now the larger joint community of Fredenbeck, whose administrative seat is still Fredenbeck.

media
The reporting about the integrated community Fredenbeck takes place mainly in the two local newspapers of the district. In addition to the daily newspaper “ Stader Tageblatt ”, this is the advertising-financed weekly newspaper “ Neue Stader Wochenblatt ”, which appears twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. In addition, in the area of the municipality of Kutenholz, the press in the neighboring town of Bremervörde is still of some importance.
An independent newspaper does not exist in the area of the integrated community Fredenbeck. However, the “Fredenbecker Blick” published by the Fredenbeck advertising association contains some informational value, without it being possible to speak of independent reporting. It offers the Samt- and the local church community but also the associations of the communities Fredenbeck and Deinste an opportunity to publish, announce and present themselves. At the same time, a similar publication with the title “Kutenholz aktuell” appears for the Kutenholz division. Both monthly sheets are distributed free of charge throughout the community.
In addition, publications by the local parties appear at irregular intervals. At the CDU this sheet is called “Bi uns in Dbod” ( Low German for “Here in the village”), at the SPD “Hello Neighbors” and at the alliance Greens “Green Info”. However, they primarily serve to present and comment on topics from the perspective of the respective party.
education
The integrated community of Fredenbeck has two primary schools ( GS Fredenbeck, GS Mulsum-Kutenholz ) and a high school with a high school offer ( Geestlandschule ).
