The Stader Tageblatt is a regional newspaper that appears in Stade ( Lower Saxony ) every day except Sundays and covers the entire district of Stade . The sold circulation is 18,925 copies, a decrease of 28.3 percent since 1998.

The Stader Tageblatt has the so-called Rhenish format . The newspaper first appeared in 1871 and is published by the newspaper publisher Karl Krause GmbH & Co. KG, based in Stade. An external editorial office in Buxtehude produces the head editions Buxtehuder Tageblatt and Altländer Tageblatt . The cover section is published in cooperation with other smaller daily newspapers in the Elbe-Weser area and is produced by the “Redaktionsgemeinschaft Nordsee” based at the Nordsee-Zeitung in Bremerhaven .

The well-known investigative journalist Hans Leyendecker did his traineeship at the Stader Tageblatt , where he also wrote leading articles.

Another volunteer at Stader Tageblatt was Hermann Meyn , lecturer in journalism at the University of Hamburg, former editor of the news magazine Der Spiegel , Senate spokesman in Berlin and chairman of the German Association of Journalists.

Heinrich Ahrens (1905–1977) worked from 1927 as an editor for the newspaper. Later he was rector of the Stade Middle School, whose chronicle he wrote. He was a member of the Stader City Council for the FDP.

Edition

The Stader Tageblatt , like most German newspapers in recent years to rest lost. The number of copies sold has fallen by an average of 1.9% per year over the past 10 years. Last year it decreased by 1.8%. It is currently 18,925 copies. The share of subscriptions in the circulation sold is 87.3 percent.
